Hi. My name is Katherine, and I am a Registered Nurse. In my nursing career, I have worked in acute hospital setting,  short term rehab, nursing homes and home health, and the one thing that I have found to be true no matter the setting, health care can be scary, and many people are unprepared, making a hard situation even harder.  ​ It has been my experience on both a personal and a professional level,    ...that even the kindest, wisest, best-intentioned healthcare teams and institutions are often still working with limited time and recorces.    ...that understanding how to take medications is the easiest (though still difficult) part of improving health, that the real questions come into 'lifestyle modifications', what to do, how to do it, how to maintain it... ​ ...that it is not only the health of an individual that impacts them greatly but the health and management of a loved one   ....that skills are important, but caring is what truly heals.  ​ This is the inspiration and mission of Northstar Nursing.
